Skateboard Art Auction

Have you wondered what you could do to support Skateistan? Well, here’s your chance and you can also get a nice piece of art out of it. The Skateistan US entity just held its first major exhibition and fundraising event in New York (Red Bull Soho Space), with nearly 70 customized boards on display by more than 50 artists.

Now that the benefit night has passed, the boards are all available for auction on eBay. The skateboards were used as canvasses by various up-and-coming New York artists, the installation artist Olafur Eliasson, street artist Cake, designers and, of course, skateboarders. One hundred percent of the final bids will go directly towards Skateistan’s efforts to provide skateboarding and educational opportunities to the boys and girls of Afghanistan.
